This is a recipe to die for. It uses almost no flour. The brownies are incredible. Dave Stone was a grad student in my postdoc lab. His brother died of AIDS early in the epidemic - one of too many. I bake these incredible brownies in his memory. I have searched for this recipe for years and, finding it, I wanted to share it with you all.

Ingredients

Protocol

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Melt chocolate and let cool.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar and add eggs one at a time, beat until fluffy.
  4. Beat in flour, vanilla, and salt.
  5. Fold in melted chocolate.
  6. Fold in chocolate bits and raisins.
  7. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Line it with waxed paper and flour the paper.
  8. Bake for 18-20 min (at Wisconsin/Chicago altitude!)
  9. Immediately invert and refrigerate.
