Iā€™m a: yeast researcher, genomicist, and mentor

My research: I studied yeast stationary phase, especially quiescent and non-quiescent cells in these cultures. I loved interdisciplinary interactions with lots of engineers and computer scientists. Now, I help STEM professionals (BS/MS/PhD) to be prepared for and find fun careers in or outside academia.

What do you typically eat for breakfast? scotch oats, blueberries, chia seeds, walnuts, and yogurt

What is your favorite snack or candy? Ice cream - frozen yogurt. Chips and salsa.

What is your favorite spice? cumin

What is one food you absolutely dislike? menudo (please don't tell)

What is one of your favorite dishes? I like lamb or mutton, bone stew, huevos rancheros, green chile chicken stew, blue corn tamales with calabacitas and anything with green chile. These are the best meals and they often come with feasts and dancing, laughter, family, and building memories.
