I’m a: biologist and science communicator

My research: When I was a lab scientist I was working to understand how animals and bacteria communicate with each other. I was researching that question in the Hawaiian bobtail squid and its partnership with the bioluminescent Vibrio fischeri! Now I run a science engagement non-profit that connects scientists with classrooms and other groups of non-scientists all around the world!

What do you typically eat for breakfast? 2 eggs and toast

What is your favorite snack or candy? Those little Lindt spheres that are kinda “liquidy” on the inside.

What is your favorite spice? coriander

What is one food you absolutely dislike? lentils

What is one of your favorite dishes? Tony's Famous or Santuccis Tomato pie from Philly. My family ate pizza every Friday when I was growing up, and it was my favorite day of the week.
