My mom always made this for us growing up and now I love making it for my kids and my friends.
Ingredients
Protocol
- Mount egg whites with half the sugar in a bowl using an electric mixer.
- In a separate bowl, whip together egg yolks and remaining sugar then add mascarpone and mix.
- Gently fold the egg whites with the yolk mixture.
- In a glass dish (8x8in), pour a little bit of coffee, lay the lady fingers and pour some coffee over them. You can add booze to the coffee.
- Add a layer of cream.
- Add another layer of lady fingers, soak in coffee, layer remaining cream.
- Cool for 2 hrs in the refrigerator.
- Before serving, dust with dark cocoa using a sieve.
