My research: The overall goal of my research is to understand and develop new tools to fight infectious diseases. My research has two major focuses: (1) to develop chemical and biochemical strategies towards understanding and combating bacterial and fungal resistance, and (2) to elucidate the mechanisms and biological functions of several classes of enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of natural products and to develop new tools (multifunctional enzymes) for the production of their derivatives.
What do you typically eat for breakfast? fruits, nuts, eggs
What is your favorite type of cuisine to cook? My mom's buckwheat pancakes (I eat them everyday during the Holidays)!
What is your favorite snack or candy? cashews
What is your favorite spice? I love all spices!
What is one food you absolutely dislike? I do not eat red meat.
